His tours to Colombia, Mexico, the islands of the Antilles and Spain began to strengthen its image and prestige.
Quickly, he began searching for a compatible donor for a bone marrow transplant to slow the speed with which the interpreter's health waned. The person selected for this transplant was his younger brother, Rene Navarro Velasquez. However, curative treatment of the time were useless, since his body was rejecting the transplant and after ten days from entry into the medical center, died on September 28 and 1967 at the height of its popularity. The Medical Board who attended the singer, the day of his death, issued a bulletin reporting that his death was caused by a cerebrovascular complications as a result of the disease diagnosed.During his tour of these countries, he noticed that it took to long to heal the small shaving cuts Although this was expressed in the letters to acquaintances, written during his tour, did not give more importance to this problem.
